The Danger of Compromise

There is one book in the Bible that displays the dangers of the culture invading the church better than any other. It is the book of Judges.

The book begins with so much hope, a nation who had followed Moses out of Egypt, Joshua into the promised land, now inquiring of the LORD for their future. A generation which had seen so many die (all but two) because of disobedience, now had arrived where God had promised He would take them. This hope is very quickly lost as the cycle of the book is introduced to us, (2:11-23; 3:7-12) — a cycle that follows a fairly consistent pattern throughout
