The Psalms

One of the most important books in the Bible is the book of Psalms. It is a book of praise, a crying out to God in all of life's circumstances and has much to teach us about the character of God, and what He requires and desires from His people. It is a book that displays and demands emotions from the follower of God in real life based on real truth. It is a book that is radically authentic, and relationally deep.

Psalm 1 introduces the book with a clear declaration of the importance of truth to worship, and then the overflow of that life lived meditating on the Word of God day and night always in passionate praise. This book is a call for us as a church to have our relationship with God impact all we are, all we feel, and all we do.

This summer we will take a small drink from this amazing river of God's Word, and our hope is it will whet our appetite so that it becomes a constant companion as we journey together and alone for the glory of God. Our prayer is that our praise will deepen, our passion be a delight and our pursuit of God saturated in truth and overflowing in praise. Journey with us in prayer and delight and we will never be the same!
