To God’s Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:
We exist to GLORIFY GOD.
What does that even mean?
It means that once we know the immensity and intimacy of His love, and the greatness of who He is and what He has done for us, we seek to become those who choose to display how great He is in every area of our lives.
It means we live in such a way that in our lives and through our lives people can see Jesus (1 Peter 2:11-12).
Put another way we see all of life as an opportunity to show the difference faith makes in our lives and the delight we have in God. 1 Peter 3:15 puts it in the context of making people ask us the reason for the hope we have…and that hope is always sure in the context of who God really is.
So, saying we exist to glorify God means that we want to lead radically God centred lives…and display in how we live that He is our greatest treasure…it never means we add to His glory, this is impossible, it means we help others see Him as He has revealed Himself to be in His Word.
This is not easy, as there are many distractions and situations that could chase away the desire or ability to do this, so we must foundationally remember the realities of God so that they invade the realities of life…
- What are you going through right now in your life that you could use to glorify God? To show others how amazing He is and the greatness of His Gospel?
- How can you show the hope that you have in the midst of everyday life?
- How can you shape your worldview so that it limits the distractions of Good things and loses the disorientation of bad in the midst of your passion to live for God and His glory?
One of the key ways that we grow in our ability to glorify God is by growing in our relational intimacy with Him.
This is why a conference on the Habits of Grace is so important, and essential for us to be a part of as followers of Jesus. We encourage you to make this a priority this weekend, and join us for a time of laying the foundation for an every growing walk with God that will allow you to glorify Him always.
The Weekend Is Coming:
We will be covering the HABITS OF GRACE, as well as a number of other topics in our breakout sessions…
- What are you doing to grow in your walk with God right now?
- Why is rooting out sin essential to being a healthy Christian?
- How can you grow in your desire to be Word Saturated and Word obedient?
- How can you discipline your prayer life so that you are more and more committed to breathing in a healthy way as a Christian individually and corporately?
- What are some areas that you can grow in your faithfulness to the family of God in attendance, service, and encouraging others?
- How can you seek to ensure that your living in a first love relationship with Jesus as you seek to discipline your walk with Him?
- What are some ways that you can show your dependence on God for your growth (His Grace), even as you pursue with discipline a deeper more defining walk with Him?
Looking forward to a great weekend, and looking back from eternity in a way that shows the difference that this will make!
