To God’s Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:
Merry Christmas:
Well, maybe not yet, but tis the season…and it is an amazing opportunity for us to share the reason for the HOPE we have. Jesus is the reason for this season, and for all of life and yet so few in our sphere of influence are living this way.
It is our prayer that this Christmas season as we seek to build our culture of evangelism that many will hear through God’s people at CBC the Gospel message as we live in the world but not of the world!
Who does God want you to influence towards Him this Christmas?
How can you pray for this person and display the difference God has made in your life?
How can you invite them to one of our services, where we will seek to have the Gospel on display in word and in life? How can you be a part of making sure the atmosphere people find at CBC this Christmas is one that displays the love of God and is welcoming?
Merry Christmas...well, maybe not yet...but let us prepare well for such a time as this.
The book of JUDE was an easy one to fall in love with, and to impact our lives. So often we can get distracted by the worlds entertainment, disoriented by the politics of the time, or depressed if our sports team loses. Jude reminds us to contend for the faith in unity and with passion.
It is such an important reminder for us in a world that can invade the church and our own traditions and silos of thought. FIGHT to know God’s Word and to live in obedience to Him, and to avoid losing to the attacks of the enemy! If this is our passion then the ways and powers of the world will quickly lose their appeal, and our longing to honour God and live on mission for Him will increase with our experienced love from Him! WATCH YOUR LIFE AND DOCTRINE CLOSELY!
It is American Thanksgiving this week, and although for many of us Black Friday is the key focus of the week it is a great reminder for us of the importance of thanksgiving. Was listening to a podcast this week on mental health and the researcher doing the podcast shared that being thankful actually rewires our brains towards healthy mental capacities. I don’t know if this is true or not, but do know that we are commanded to be thankful always and in light of the Gospel realities that we have experienced it is possible, even probable.
So let us this American Thanksgiving be a people filled with peace and grateful hearts, and if so inclined enjoy Turkey and all of the other things that adding a holiday like this can bring!
Happy Thanksgiving…and may that be an every day greeting for the followers of Jesus!
Thankful for you, and to be found IN CHRIST...
Pastor Rob
Sunday Is Coming
Title: Advent Hope: Jesus Is Our Anchor Of Hope
Text: Hebrews 6:19; 2 Corinthians 5:11-21
- Did you know that the Anchor is one of the main symbols for Christianity in the early church?
- Why do you think that was?
- Why do you think it is used so rarely now?
- How can we learn to value and live in the hope that we have in Jesus and the Gospel?
- Read Hebrews 6:19 and 2 Corinthians 5:11-21…
- What does it mean to be the righteousness of Jesus?
- How does knowing we are a new creation in Christ help us?
- What does it mean practically to live with Jesus as the one who reorients the rest of our lives?
- How can we live as ambassadors this Christmas season and beyond?

- Please pray for Dean as his furlough with us has come to an end. Praise God for his time with us and the blessing it was to have him with us for eight weeks.
- Please pray for Dean and the team as they lead the upcoming Christmas rehearsals. Pray that both the Christmas presentations and the Sunday school programs would reach many people with the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ. Pray for the salvation of all who attend.
- Pray for wisdom for the Sunday school teachers and volunteers.
- Continue to pray for God’s protection in the midst of the war, and pray that He would bring peace to Ukraine.
