Limited Gathering is Here

To God’s Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:

I am ready for this pandemic to be over.  I am so thankful that God is Sovereign over all and can be trusted, and encourage you, as I encourage my own heart to walk by faith and not by sight.

God is MY ROCK and MY FORTRESS, and WORTHY OF MY PRAISE AND TRUST!

Sunday we are gathering again, not as we would want in a perfect world, but at least another healthy step moving forward.

If you would like to attend, you can sign up for the service here:

YOU MUST BE SIGNED UP TO COME

If you are not computer literate, please call the office and our admin team can help you to get signed up.  604 574 8799 during office hours…Tuesday to Friday 9-4.

If you sign up please help us to stay loving and safe, and seek to out honour those around you by seeking to follow the guidelines that we have given.

There will be no child care for the foreseeable future, so if you bring children with you, they will be your responsibility and we ask that you make sure that they also follow the guidelines and are a blessing to others around them.  Our children’s ministry team has packets that will help the children grow in their faith through the service, and you are welcome to pick those up from your hosts.

There are THREE ZONES that we are committed to keeping seperate:

We are committed to keeping the groups of 50 separated, so please know these instructions as you come.  A Parking attendant will meet with you when you arrive and show you where to park and be able to answer questions if you have one.  Each gathering also has a host that will help guide you, if needed.

ZONE 1:  Sanctuary:  Parking in the staff parking lot, by the admin wing, entrance will be in the door directly into the sanctuary on the west side of the church.  Please do not congregate by the entrance.

Bathrooms for Zone 1 will be the large ladies one, to the left of the front entrance and the men’s on the west side of the church (handicap bathroom also available for use).  Please do not congregate by the entrance.

ZONE 2:  Fellowship Hall:  Parking on the west side of the church (imagine the parking lot split between east and west, park in the half closest to where the Canucks used to play).  Entrance will be the main doors of the church.  Please as you enter, immediately go the Fellowship Hall.

Bathrooms for Zone 2 will be the bathrooms in the main foyer by the gym and Fellowship Hall.

ZONE 3:  Gym:  Parking will be on the east side of the church (imagine the parking lot split between east and west, park in the half closest to where the Flames used to play).  When you are parked walk down the sidewalk on the east side of the property and enter through the gym doors.  Please do not congregate by the entrance.

Bathrooms for Zone 3 will be in the CE wing.

We would like to ensure that there is space for all that want to go, or at the very least is as fair as we can make it.  If you attend one week, please wait until the Friday of the next week before you sign up to come again.  If there is still space you are welcome!

We also have heard from those churches who are walking this path a little ahead of us that there has been some disappointment because it is not church as we remember, or the church we long for…so please as you come realize this is not normal, but a wonderful opportunity to take the next step towards what we long for, when we can all gather in the sanctuary again!

Please keep your bubble groups (chairs gathered) to a maximum of six (unless your immediate family is bigger than this).

Baptism Service:  We will be having a baptism service on August 23.  We would love to talk with you about this if you have not been baptized as a believer by immersion.  Please connect with a pastor and we would love to help you with this.

Prayer Meeting:  Reminder that we are gathering on site for prayer Wednesday nights as our elders lead us in a time of seeking God’s face together.  7-8 pm, Fellowship Hall.

Sunday Is Coming:

Title: Steps To Anxiety Free Living
Text: Psalm 3

  • Why do you think so many in our culture are gripped by fear and anxiety?
  • Why do you think that the Bible commands us not to be anxious?
  • What do you think was David’s problem that caused him to write this Psalm?
  • How does Proverbs 12:25 display the danger of anxiety?
  • As you read Psalm 3, how does it help you pave a pathway to anxiety free living?

Excited to meet with some of you on Sunday, and many more in the coming weeks.  Miss our gathering!

Pastor Rob
