Hallowed Evening

To God's Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:

This week we celebrate the Reformation, for on October 31, 1517 a monk expressed some concerns with what was being taught and practiced in the church.  He wanted to reform the church, but what ended up having was revolutionary, and I am thankful for this special day.  It is strange to me that what is probably the most historical Christian holiday we celebrate has been so taken over by the world.  This year take the time to understand the history of what went on.  If you would like a book that helps to express the importance of the reformation, we are giving away around 20 of a book called, Why The Reformation Still Matters, and they can be picked up at the office.  Once they are gone, they are gone, and we won't reserve any, so that we can make it fair for all who want one.

Please get your ROMANS BOOK NOW!  These are written to help us to grow together and are best used alongside the sermon series we are now in.  You can download it on our website, order it from Amazon, or pick up a copy at the church office (or if you attend, where you come in).  We really would love each of you to have one of these, as they have a 31 day devotional along with study notes to help you apply God's Word to your life.  WE WILL START THIS TOGETHER November 1.  We believe one of the most difficult things in COVID is staying connected, and these books are written to seek to help you to STAY CONNECTED!  Start the 31 day journey with us!

WE NEED YOU:  We are in need of volunteers to help us during our Sunday morning services.  We are short staffed in the servant roles that include sound, lighting, and other areas.  If this is something you would be willing to be equipped and serve in we need to hear from you!  Please let us know.  Our health includes your growth, your love for God, your deep desire to honour Him with your resources...AND each member serving.  This is so hard during COVID, we know this, and yet...there are opportunities.

Sunday Is Coming:

Title:  From Head To Heart To Hands:
Text:  Romans 11:30-36

  • Why is praise so important to God?
  • How can we be a people whose hearts are so full that we overflow in thanksgiving?
  • Why is having a biblical view of God so important to a right response to Him?
  • How can you make sure that you know Him better every day?
  • What can you do to make connecting with God's people a practical reality in a pandemic?

Communion:  We are celebrating communion again this Sunday, and it is so important for us to be unified in our remembering and renewing our first love devotion!  Please have the elements ready at home, or if you are attending, join us in preparing your heats for this first love devotion obedience as a family.

Called Out, Sent In conference coming in November.  We are sponsoring a TGC online (and live) conference on November 7.  We will be joined by a church in Calgary and Newfoundland as we seek to maximize our holiness, and our impact for God in the world, but not of the world.  You can sign up to attend online (free, but must be signed up), or find our link online and join us for a morning in God's Word here, and across Canada.  So far our sign up has been limited, and we need to know if you are coming.  It will be from 9-12:30.  We would love to have you join us LIVE, or ONLINE.
